Job summary

Montgomery County Educational Service Center in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking an Educational Assistant for the Early Childhood Program at Learning Center East. Start date ASAP; full-time, 7 hours per day, salary $20.11–$25.88 per hour.

You will support students individually or in small groups, implement interventions, manage materials, and help with daily living activities and behavior management, under teacher guidance.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio State Board of Education license/permit or willingness to obtain one.
• Know sign language or be interested in learning sign language (this position will be working in a special education deaf and hard of hearing preschool classroom).
• Ability to physically support students with disabilities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to supporting student engagement, accountability, and development.
• Fingerprinting and criminal records check results satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce instructional objectives.
• Assist with intervention, enrichment, and behavioral strategies under the guidance of teachers.
• Manage classroom and program materials, equipment, and learning environments.
• Help students with daily living activities, social skills, task redirection, and behavior management.
• Monitor and communicate student progress, collecting data and maintaining records.
• Assist in implementing accommodations and supporting safe learning environments.
