Job summary

Montgomery County Educational Service Center in Dayton, OH is seeking an Educational Assistant for the Learning Center East. This full‑time position offers 7 hours per day with a start date ASAP and a salary of $20.11–$25.88 per hour.

You will support students individually or in small groups and help reinforce instructional objectives and classroom routines. Requirements include a valid Ohio license/permit or willingness to obtain one; knowledge of sign language is a plus since the preschool

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio license/permit or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of sign language or willingness to learn sign language is a plus for a deaf and hard of hearing classroom.
• Ability to physically support students with disabilities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Fingerprinting and criminal records checks are required and provided by MCESC.

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom and program materials, equipment, and learning environments.
• Help students with daily living activities, social skills, task redirection, and behavior management.

What You'll Bring:

• Valid Ohio State Board of Education license/permit or willingness to obtain one.
• Know sign language or be interested in learning sign language (this position will be working in a special education deaf and hard of hearing preschool classroom).
• Ability to physically support students with disabilities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to supporting student engagement, accountability, and development.
• Satisfactory fingerprinting and criminal records check results (provided for free by MCESC!).
