Job summary

CDS Downeast in Machias seeks an Educational Technician III to teach and support preschoolers with disabilities aged 3-5, under teacher direction. The role may serve as an e-helper for speech therapy via tele-practice and requires current Ed Tech III certification and a criminal history check. Join a multidisciplinary team and help children progress in a supportive setting.

This is a 30-hour per week, academic-year position with Maine state benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Authorization as an Ed Tech with the Maine Department of Education.
• Minimum three years of postsecondary education or 90 hours of approved study.
• Successful background check, fingerprinting and reference check.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit a positive professional attitude with supervisors, co-workers, students, and community.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and employee information.
• Meet with program supervisor regularly to review student progress.
• Assist in material preparation and class management functions.
• Introduce new learning planned with the Teacher of Children With Disabilities.
• Provide input to observations and assessments for each child.
• Conduct small group instruction with indirect supervision.
• Supervise small groups in community programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Site Director/Supervisor.
