Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated preschool assistant to support day-to-day operation of the site Preschool in Tucson, AZ. The role includes lesson planning, staffing support, parent communications, records, and government compliance.

The assistant will work closely with the lead educator, help maintain required teacher-to-student ratios, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment aligned with Arizona standards and DHS requirements.

Qualifications

Knowledge of preschool learning and enrichment methods.
Experience with DHS/MUSD guidelines is a plus.
Ability to plan lessons and manage activities.
Strong communication with staff, families, and community.

Responsibilities

Assist supervisor in managing a classroom of students.
Assist with scheduling staff to maintain teacher-to-student ratios.
Assist with lesson planning and activities.
Assist with ordering and receiving materials and supplies.
Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Maintain training hours per year.
Assist with DHS compliance requirements.
Fill in for supervisor in their absence.
Maintain records and files.
Plan activities aligned with Arizona Early Learning standards and DHS standards.
Maintain a safe, clean, positive learning environment.
Support Quality First assessments and coaching.
Attend continuing education programs as required.
Post payments and reconcile bank deposits.
Assist parents with billing system and attendance records.
Administer medications per MUSD guidelines.
Communicate with staff on regulations and policies.
Maintain classroom appearance and relationships with the school community.
