Job summary

The Salvation Army in Florida is seeking a Child Development Center Director to lead the day-to-day operations of the preschool, ensuring programs meet licensing requirements and quality standards. You will hire, train, and evaluate staff; oversee curriculum development; and manage budgets while delivering developmentally appropriate activities.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, three years of progressive teaching experience with two in supervision, and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required.
• Three years progressively responsible experience teaching early childhood education with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Valid state driver’s license, Food Handlers Certification, CPR/First Aid, Directors Credential, trauma-informed certification per DCF.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, supervises, and monitors day-to-day operations of the Child Development Center.
• Hires, supervises, evaluates staff; conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback.
• Develops and monitors curriculum content and provides guidance to class workers.

Schedule/Hours: M – F 8:00 pm – 5:00 pm – 40 hours a weekThis position is responsible for:Plans, develops, initiates, and monitors a curriculum where children are actively involved in the learning process, experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials.
