The Learning Experience - Hell's Kitchen in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Preschool Education Director to lead curriculum quality, teacher development, and educational excellence across our early childhood program.

Reporting to the Center Director, you will oversee classroom practices, coach teachers, ensure licensing compliance, and partner with families to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences every day.

Qualifications

• Must meet applicable New York City Education Director qualification requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field required
• New York State Teacher Certification strongly preferred where applicable
• 3+ years of early childhood education leadership experience preferred
• Experience coaching and developing early childhood teachers required
• Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
• Knowledge of NYC childcare licensing requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of LEAP Curriculum
• Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback to teachers
• Mentor and develop Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and classroom staff
• Maintain high standards for classroom quality and educational practice
• Support lesson planning, child assessments, and developmental documentation
• Identify professional development needs and provide ongoing teacher training
• Support onboarding and development of new educators
• Ensure classrooms meet licensing requirements
• Maintain educational, training, and compliance documentation
• Build relationships with families and support educational communication
• Partner with Center Director on staffing, retention, enrollment, and school quality
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
