Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Counselor I to support a nurturing preschool environment, assisting in curriculum delivery and ensuring children's safety and development. You will collaborate with Program Leaders, engage children in meaningful activities, and help foster positive relationships with families and staff.

The role requires 16+ years old, CPR/First Aid within 30 days, and willingness to work across multiple program locations, with ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Must meet YMCA of South Hampton Roads and Virginia DOE childcare safety standards.
• At least 16 years old.
• Work under supervision of a Program Lead.
• CPR/First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Background checks completed prior to employment.
• Timeliness and ability to work at multiple program locations.
