Lutheran Services Florida, Inc. seeks a Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our Head Start/Early Head Start program. You will support a teaching team to implement curricula, guide activities, and promote family involvement in a developmentally appropriate setting.

The role emphasizes safety, observation, and collaboration with staff to ensure 80% of children reach kindergarten readiness while maintaining positive classroom interactions and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CDA Preschool Endorsement or FCCPC or CCP or related degree program or enrollment preferred.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days from hire.
• Background screening and health checks as per program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing approved curricula and classroom activities.
• Support daily routines, field trips, and development of children's social and academic skills.
• Maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment and adhere to Head Start standards.
• Document weekly observations and participate in family conferences to discuss child progress.
• Assist with home visits and parent involvement efforts and maintain confidentiality.
