Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) seeks a dedicated Teacher I to lead Head Start/EHS classrooms, planning age-appropriate educational activities for preschoolers and infants. You will collaborate with families and staff to ensure standards are met and children are prepared for kindergarten.

The role emphasizes health checks, development assessments, and effective parent communication within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with relevant coursework.
• 18 credits focused on child development, early childhood education, curriculum, or related areas.
• Must complete State Childcare Training including DAP (10 hours) and 45 hours Florida Child Care Facility Training within 12 months of hire; must meet VPK requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lesson plans for preschool or infants/toddlers.
• Create learning areas and assess developmental needs to develop individual education plans.
• Maintain safety, health checks, and classroom discipline with active supervision.
• Communicate with parents about progress, events, and plan changes.
• Coordinate field trips and arrange parent/community involvement.
