Job summary

Kid Town USA in Clinton Charter Township, Michigan, is seeking GSRP Associate Teachers to support our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) in a dedicated preschool setting. This role focuses on teamwork, curriculum support, and promoting positive child development in a family-oriented environment.

Qualified candidates hold an associate degree in early childhood education or child development or a valid CDA credential; consider a plus if you have experience with at-risk children.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent.
• Alternative: valid classroom CDA credential.
• Experience teaching at-risk children is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team member to provide a quality preschool program.
• Assist planning, implementing, and monitoring curriculum and assessment.
• Assist with establishing parent involvement activities.
• Assist with home visits.
• Work with individual and small groups of students.
• Support children’s emotional and social development.
• Assist children with personal health care needs.
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans.
• Monitor behavior and support the educational process.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and playgrounds.
• Participate in trainings and ongoing professional development.
• Able to work flexible hours for family involvement activities and events.
• Physical ability to perform tasks around small children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
