Job summary

Webb County Head Start is seeking an Education Aide to assist the teacher in carrying out the educational, recreational, and social programs planned for children.

You will attend lectures and conferences for professional development, keep the classroom neat and orderly, rotate to centers as needed, assist with classroom duties in the teacher’s absence, and perform other related tasks as assigned. This is a full-time position with benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Preferably some college education (child development / early childhood courses / or experience working with preschool children).
• Be bilingual and have experience working with preschool-age children.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines for the position annually.

Responsibilities

• Attend lectures, conferences, and other educational programs as directed to support professional development and growth as an aide.
• Remains attentive to each child's needs and helps promote their health and welfare.
• Maintains the classroom in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
• Rotates to assigned centers as needed.
• Assists with classroom responsibilities in the absence of the teacher and the teacher aide.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
