Job summary

Luzerne County Head Start is hiring a Classroom Aide to support early childhood education in a structured classroom setting. You will partner with the lead Teacher and Associate Teacher to provide a third-person voice and assist in delivering engaging activities for 3- and 4-year-olds.

The role focuses on creating a welcoming, developmentally appropriate learning environment, promoting readiness skills, and collaborating with staff to support each child’s growth throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with Young Children preferred.
• Bilingual Language abilities, English/Spanish, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work as a part of a team to assist in carrying out educational activities in the classroom setting. Partners with the lead Teacher and Associate Teacher as a 3rd person support in the classroom.
• Implement educational activities by providing and maintaining an atmosphere in the State-Funded classroom that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices for 3 and 4-year old children.
