Job summary

ADAPT Community Network is seeking a Preschool Certified Teacher Assistant to join our Greenpoint School team. This role offers a sign-on bonus and supports children with developmental needs under supervision of a licensed teacher.

The candidate will provide instructional support, assist with lesson plans, supervise children, and help with data documentation. NYS Teacher Assistant Certification is required, with prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 6 months related experience preferred.
• NYS Teacher Assistant Certification (Level I, II or III) required.
• Workshops on child abuse identification and related trainings to be completed before start date.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; strong communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical and programmatic aid to children in the classroom.
• Assist with lesson plans, preparations, and instructional materials.
• Supervise children and support the teacher in classroom activities.
• Maintain data collection and progress notes within required timelines.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, and clothing as needed; implement safety precautions.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in trainings; support transportation between locations.
