The Learning Experience - Harrisburg is seeking a Preschool Center Director to lead instructional quality, staff development, and family engagement at our Harrisburg location. The role focuses on building a collaborative, compliant, and thriving learning environment for children and teachers.

The director will oversee hiring, coaching, scheduling, and licensing compliance while maintaining strong relationships with families and state licensors to ensure continuous center improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of center leadership/management experience preferred; 3 years required.
• Professional teaching experience with infants to preschool children.
• Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field preferred; HS Diploma/GED required.
• Strong knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Identify, schedule and interview teacher candidates.
• Conduct classroom observations, evaluations and provide feedback.
• Manage team to ensure curriculum aligns with brand standards.
• Coach and develop staff for future growth.
• Schedule weekly hours and manage labor within budget.
• Lead tours for prospective families and communicate progress.
• Maintain health/safety compliance and licensing records.
• Coordinate with state licensors and center evaluations.
• Oversee accident/incident reporting and incident documentation.
• Manage medication administration and safety drills.
• Handle new customer administration and files per licensing rules.

Preschool Center Director Responsibilities:

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

• Identifies, schedules and interviews teacher candidates.
• Conducts classroom observations, evaluations, and provides feedback that motivates and encourages learning.
• Manages team to ensure TLE curriculum is executed in alignment with brand standards.
• Uses a growth mindset to train, coach and develop for the future.
• Listens objectively to employee concerns and plans a recommended course of action.
• Builds and communicates weekly schedules.
• Daily management of classroom ratios.
• Builds center schedules to ensure labor is effectively managed to budget.

CUSTOMER FOCUS

• Leads tour with prospective families, highlighting key features and points of difference of our curriculum, teacher tenure/quality, etc.
• Regularly communicates with families regarding student progress.
• Executes “parent pleasers”.
• Execution of our Show and Tell App.
• Regularly audits and maintains all records and files for students and teachers.
• Ensures the physical environment and health/safety standards are full compliance with local and state licensing regulations.
• Manages relationships with state licensors and conducts center evaluations.
• Responsible for accident/incident reporting.
• Medication management.
• Conducts monthly emergency safety drills.
• Manages new customer administration and files in compliance with state licensing regulations.

Preschool Center Director Qualifications:

• Five or more years of center leadership/management experience highly preferred. Three years of center leadership/management experience required.
• Must have professional teaching experience with infants to preschool children.
• Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field highly preferred. HS Diploma/GED required.
• Strong knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations.
