Job summary

The Caledonia Community School District in Michigan is seeking a Preschool/Break Aide (Part-Time) to support classroom teachers during breaks. The role covers up to 8 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, with 1–2 hours per day, at multiple locations.

Wage is $18.00 per hour; benefits are not included as the position is non-union. Responsibilities include supervising children, maintaining safety, assisting with daily routines, facilitating play and storytime, and communicating with families

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool-aged children is desired.
• Ability to meet fingerprinting background check requirements.
• Drug testing is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required and training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for children while lead or associate teachers take scheduled breaks.
• Maintain continuous visual contact and proximity to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with daily schedules, transitions, meals, and routines.
• Facilitate play, read stories, and guide children through activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and school staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
