Job summary

Community-Action-Partnership-of-SAN-Luis-Obisp is hiring an Associate Teacher for our Early Childhood Education team. You will provide care and education for children aged 0-5, working with a Center Supervisor and staff to plan activities.

Ideal candidates hold 12 ECE/CD semester units with a C or better, or a CDA credential/CTC, plus 6 months of related experience. Infant/Toddler roles may require 3 units.

Qualifications

• 12 semester units ECE/CD with core classes: Growth & Development, Family & Community, Programs/Curriculum.
• CDA Credential or CTC required or eligibility and permit within 60 days of start date.
• 6 months of related experience with children 0–5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and education for children 0–5 in a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate with Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assume Teacher responsibilities in absence of lead teacher; support instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
• Assist with bus supervision and supervise children during transportation as needed.
• Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within 30 days of hire.
• Complete 16 hours of Health and Safety training within 30 days of hire.
