Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, Inc. seeks an Associate Teacher to join our Early Childhood Education team.

You will provide care and education for children aged 0-5, working with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to implement developmentally appropriate activities. Responsibilities include supporting instructional staff, maintaining a safe environment, assisting with educational plans, and participating in activities such as games, music, and outdoor play.

Qualificações

• 12 semester units ECE/CD with core classes: Child Growth & Development, Child, Family & Community, and ECE/CD Programs/Curriculum.
• CDA Credential or CTC required at hire; if not held, apply for permit within 60 days of start date.
• 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years.

Responsabilidades

• Provide care and education for children ages 0-5.
• Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assume Teacher responsibilities in their absence and support instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
• Assist in planning and executing educational activities that promote child development.
• Participate in physical activities with children, including games, music, and outdoor play.
• Assist with bus supervision to ensure safety during transportation.
• Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire.
• Complete 16 hours of Health and Safety Code training on preventative health practices and nutrition within 30 days.

We are looking for dedicated individual to join our Early Childhood Education team as Associate Teacher. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and development of children while supporting our mission to provide high-quality education and care.

What we're looking for in the ideal candidate:

• Has 12 semester units ECE/CD, with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC. Units must consist of the following core classes:
  • Child Growth & Development
  • Child, Family & Community, or Child & Family Relations
  • ECE/CD Programs/Curriculum courses
  • For positions in our Infant/Toddler classroom, candidates must have 3 units of Infant/Toddler courses.
• Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher at the time of hire; candidates who do not possess the permit must qualify for and submit an application for the permit within 60 days of their start date.
• Has 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years of age.
• Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver's license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.

As an Associate Teacher you will:

• Assist with bus supervision, ensuring the safety and engagement of children during transportation.
• Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire.
• Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition, as required by Health and Safety Code within the first 30 days of hire.
