Our fast-growing bilingual, international school is located in Hoboken, New Jersey, one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We currently enroll students from early childhood to 4th grade, with plans to add one grade next year. We are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), are a NAIS model school, and are in the process of seeking accreditation for the elementary levels by the Spanish government.

From Nursery through Kindergarten, children learn 80% of the time in the target language (either Spanish, French, or Mandarin) and 20% of the time in English. Starting in grade 1, children learn 50% of the time in the target language and 50% in English.

We are looking for a caring Preschool Spanish Assistant Teacher for one of our classes in the Spanish track.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists with classroom and behavior management
• Keeps the classroom and the school clean, tidy, and presentable at all times
• Assists Lead Teacher in a range of tasks as needed
• Assists with pastoral care
• Leads outdoor play and any field trips
• Participates in meetings and trainings as needed
• May perform diaper changing, feeding and soothing of very young children depending on the class
• Assists in other duties as assigned by leadership
  
  

Qualifications

• A native-level proficiency in Spanish
• 3 years working experience in school
• Degree in early childhood education, child development or similar discipline preferred
• Experience with the IB PYP is preferable, but not required
• Strong communication skills, a sense of humor, humility, and empathy
• Team-player
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Previous experience at an international school and/or cultural fluency derived from international experience is a plus
  
  

Schedule

• 8 hours Monday to Friday
