Job summary

Glencoe Park District's Children’s Circle Preschool program is seeking a Part‑Time Assistant Teacher to support Lead Teachers, helping maintain a safe, nurturing environment that fosters each child’s growth. The role blends preschool classroom support with enrichment activities for young children.

The position is hourly, Monday–Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and requires CPR/First Aid and background checks, with opportunities to assist Enrichment Instructors and collaborate with the Early

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate required.
• Must be 19 years of age.
• Early childhood college credits and previous experience in a DCFS-licensed program are preferred.
• General knowledge of DCFS and/or IL Department of Early Childhood (IDEC) licensing standards and developmentally appropriate practice is required.
• Must possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certification or obtain within three months of hire.
• Must possess current Food Handler certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Must complete a criminal background check with satisfactory results and DCFS paperwork within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities, routines, transitions, and supervision.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning areas, and supplies, and assist with cleanup.
• Serve as an Enrichment Support Instructor by helping facilitate activities and supervise children during enrichment programs.
• Maintain professional standards and follow all applicable policies and regulations.
