Job summary

Glenview Park District in Glenview, IL seeks an Early Childhood Lead Teacher for a part-time, year-round role. You will plan, organize, and conduct lessons to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth for 2- to 5-year-olds, while supervising and maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment.

You should be a team player with energy and a love for young children; 19+ years old, with required ECE coursework or related experience, plus mandated trainings and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 19.
  • 2 years of college with 6 ECE hours or 1 year college with 6 ECE hours and 1 year of child development experience.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid and food sanitation must be obtained on hire.
  • Gateways Registry registration required on hire.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and conducts early childhood programs.
  • Prepares daily lesson plans based on theme-based curriculum.
  • Instructs children aged 3–6 to support readiness for preschool or kindergarten.
  • Uses varied educational techniques to promote growth.
  • Helps children build social skills and self-esteem; ensures safety.

JOB SUMMARY: This Early Childhood Program is a program for 2-5 year-olds. The Early Childhood Lead Teacher is responsible for day-to-day planning, organizing and conducting lessons and activities to promote students’ social, physical and intellectual growth. Performs administrative duties related to the area of responsibility, including weekly lesson plans and initiative to establish a well-rounded learning environment. Directly responsible for supervising children and providing a safe and educational environment for all students. We are looking for a team player who has a love for young children along with an energetic personality, enthusiasm and willingness to grow with the program.
