Crescent Montessori is seeking a caring Preschool Assistant Teacher to support daily classroom activities for ages 3–6. You will work with the Lead Guide and teaching team to nurture independence, curiosity, and a love of learning in a hands‑on Montessori environment.

Our O’Keeffe Primary Community serves children ages 3–6, providing an engaging environment where children learn through hands‑on activities, practical life experiences, meaningful work, and purposeful exploration.

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Preschool Assistant Teacher to work collaboratively with our Lead Guide and teaching team to support daily classroom activities, student development, and the overall classroom experience.

What You’ll Do:

• Work collaboratively with the Lead Guide and teaching team to support daily classroom activities and Montessori learning experiences.
• Assist with individual and small-group learning activities that encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence.
• Supervise and support children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, transitions, and daily routines.
• Encourage positive behavior, emotional development, problem-solving, and respectful interactions.
• Help prepare classroom materials and maintain a beautiful, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
• Support engaging hands‑on activities such as gardening, cooking, art, science, STEM, and practical life experiences.
• Build warm, positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and joyful classroom community where every child can thrive.

We’re Looking for Preschool Assistant Teachers Who:

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

Working with young children is an active, hands‑on experience! Our teachers spend their days moving, engaging with children at their level, and supporting learning both indoors and outdoors.

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and move throughout the classroom and outdoor learning environments.
• Ability to sit on the floor or work at child‑sized tables and chairs to engage with children during daily activities.
• Ability to lift, carry, and assist children or classroom materials weighing approximately 10–30 pounds as needed.
• Ability to actively supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, transitions, and daily routines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to work in a lively preschool environment with varying levels of noise, activity, and frequent interruptions.
• Ability to transition between indoor and outdoor environments and adapt to varying weather conditions.
• Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to children’s needs and classroom situations.
