Job summary

The Learning Experience - Grand Rapids Beltline is seeking a caring Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You’ll work with a Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom where preschoolers build confidence and a love of learning.

This role offers a stable, full-time schedule Monday–Friday, paid training, and opportunities to advance into Lead Teacher roles within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in daycare or preschool preferred but not required.
• CDA or ECE coursework is a plus.
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented.
• Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• Willingness to learn and grow in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher with daily Preschool classroom routines and activities.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories.
• Support literacy, language, math, creativity, and social-emotional development.
• Encourage independence, problem-solving, and positive peer interactions.
• Assist with meals, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health and safety requirements.

Location: The Learning Experience - Grand Rapids Beltline, MI
Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience - Grand Rapids Beltline is seeking a caring and dependable Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to begin or grow a career in early childhood education. You'll work alongside an experienced Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom where preschoolers build confidence, independence, friendships, and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher with daily Preschool classroom routines and learning activities
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on experiences
• Support early literacy, language, math, creativity, and social-emotional development
• Encourage independence, problem-solving, and positive peer interactions
• Assist with meals, rest time, outdoor play, transitions, and classroom routines
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
• Help prepare classroom activities and learning materialsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

• Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or experience working with children preferred, but not required
