Job summary

Safari Kid Global, Inc. in Fremont seeks an Assistant Director to lead our preschool and after-school program. You will shape a nurturing, safe learning environment, oversee staff, and drive enrollment and quality.

The role requires at least 4 years in early childhood education, 2+ years in a director-level position, and relevant credentials. You will ensure licensing compliance, manage curriculum, and build strong relationships with families and the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in early childhood education settings.
• At least 2 years of director-level or assistant director experience in a preschool.
• BA in Early Childhood Development or related qualifications, or alternative pathways as listed.
• Familiarity with licensing standards and health/safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of preschool and after-school program with a safe, nurturing environment.
• Conduct tours for prospective parents and maximize enrollment through follow-ups.
• Implement high-quality curriculum supporting developmental needs.
• Hire, train, and supervise teachers; provide ongoing professional development.
• Engage families with regular communication and family activities.
• Ensure licensing compliance and stay updated on safety regulations.
• Develop policies supporting health and well-being of children and staff.
• Analyze program data to identify improvements and raise service quality.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Director to lead our Preschool and After School Program. Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool and after-school program, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating educational environment
• Conduct tours to prospective parents, and consistently follow up in order to maximize enrollment capacity.
• Implement a high-quality curriculum that supports the developmental needs of children
• Hire, train, and supervise teachers and support staff, providing ongoing professional development and performance evaluations
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, conducting regular communication, and organizing family engagement activities
• Monitor and maintain licensing requirements and safety regulations to ensure full compliance
• Create and implement policies and procedures that support the health and well-being of all children and staff members
• Analyze program data to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies that enhance the quality of the center's services

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Licensing standards for early childhood programs
• Proven track record in managing and leading a team of educators and staff
• Experience in curriculum development and implementation for early childhood and school-age programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, staff, and community members
• Ability to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the center
• Capability to develop and maintain strong relationships with families.
• Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs and priorities of the program
• CPR, First Aid, Health, Safety, Nutrition & Lead Training certification
• Must be familiar with Google docs, sheets, slides, Canva and be able to learn to use other childcare software.
• Be available for work Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Montessori education preferred

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in early childhood education settings
• At least 2 years of director-level or assistant director experience in a preschool.
• Child Care Center Directors are preferred to have a BA in Early Childhood development but may also qualify in one of the following ways:

• 12 ECE units covering Child Development; Child, Family, and Community; and preschool curriculum, Infant toddler care
• Plus 3 units of Administration of Preschool
• Plus 4 years of teaching experience* in a licensed childcare facility
• OR
• A.A. in Child Development or ECE
• Plus 3 units of Administration of Preschool
• Plus 2 years of teaching experience in a licensed daycare facility
• OR
• B.A. in Child Development or ECE
• Plus 3 units of Administration of Preschool
• Plus 1 year of teaching experience* in a licensed daycare facility
• OR
• Program Director or Site Supervisor Permit from Dept. of Teacher Credentialing
