Job summary

The Goddard School of San Francisco (Northern Waterfront) is seeking a motivated Assistant Director to oversee preschool operations, HR, quality assurance, staff scheduling, and facilities, with a need to cover classrooms for Infants to preschool when required.

A BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field and a Site Supervisor/Director permit are required, along with CA licensing knowledge, strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or related field with required coursework.
• Site Supervisor/Director permit is required.
• Infant Units.
• Prior assistant director experience in a Preschool Setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team-building.
• Proficient with basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, staff scheduling and facility operations.
• Developing strong relationships with our families.
• Complying with state childcare licensing regulations.
• Projecting a positive and upbeat attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Having a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education.
• Will be in classroom including Infants to preschool classroom to cover for other team members or ratio requirements.

The Goddard School located in 1700 Montgomery St Suite 100 San Francisco, CA 94111 is looking for a motivated self-starter for an Assistant director’s position. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool is required. Must be aware of CA licensing requirements. A candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children.

Qualifications:

• BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or related field including 18 semester hours of completed coursework, including 12 hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
• Site Supervisor/Director permit.
• Infant Units.
• Prior assistant director experience in a Preschool Setting
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

• Proficient in basic computer skills using Microsoft office, Outlook, Canva.

To be considered for the open position you must have:

• Minimum of 12 months working experience in a large center environment.
• ACTIVE and CLEAR DOJ LIVESCAN REQUIRED.
• Mandated Reporter Certification.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• A current physical examination by a Physician, including a current tuberculin test.
• Must submit accurate shot record including MMR, T-dap and Influenza.
• An approved criminal record check as required by state regulations.
• Complete California state required health clearance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
