YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is hiring a Preschool Teacher Assistant for Bardmoor YMCA Preschool Academy in Largo, FL. The role supports teachers, helps implement the curriculum, and leads engaging activities to foster development in young children.

The position is part-time (25 hours/week) with a focus on safety, teamwork, and child-centered learning, offering growth opportunities and access to YMCA training and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of MODS training is required (Introductory Child Care Training, Part 1 & 2).
• Experience working with preschool-aged children is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Preschool Teachers in delivering an enriching classroom experience.
• Help implement the curriculum to promote creativity and learning.
• Lead and facilitate activities like games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
• Support positive behavior by setting clear rules.
• Supervise meals, outdoor play, and free play to ensure safety.
