Job summary

Linn-Benton Community College is seeking a part-time Preschool Assistant for the Special Instructions Work Study program. You will assist teaching staff in managing a safe, engaging classroom for ages 2–6, support daily activities, and help with health, safety, and record-keeping tasks.

Eligibility requires enrollment in LBCC with 6+ credits, satisfactory progress, and financial aid in place. Oregon background and health certifications must be current or obtained within required timelines.

Qualifications

• Must maintain enrollment in LBCC with at least 6 credits and satisfactory academic progress.
• Ability to work with preschool children ages 2–6; some experience preferable.
• Enrollment in Oregon’s Central Background Registry and active ORO account.
• Current First Aid/ CPR certification and Oregon Food Handler Card as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff with classroom management and supervision of children.
• Support daily activities: mealtimes, story time, rest and play according to the teacher's plans.
• Assist with toileting, dressing and self-help skills; help maintain hygiene and safety.
• Assist with record keeping and ensuring proper sanitation and food safety.
• Communicate positively with staff, parents, and children.
• Support dual language classroom implementation and routine supervision.
• Cover breaks and maintain child-teacher ratios as qualified.
• Follow health and safety regulations and LBCC policies.
• Assist with general classroom maintenance and cleanup tasks.
• Possibly perform duties of Toddler Assistant when needed.
• Possibility of other related tasks as assigned.
