Job summary

St. Michael Catholic School in Prior Lake, MN, is seeking staff to guide and enrich preschool students. The role involves supporting the preschool team with enrichment activities during and after school, and maintaining a positive, developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

Work hours roughly 24 hours per week: 12:00–4:30 on Wednesdays and Fridays; 12:00–5:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. VA benefits follow school policy.

Responsibilities

• Guide, direct and challenge students in a developmentally appropriate way in alignment with St. Michael's mission.
• Provide enrichment activities with preschool team members during and after the regular school day.
• Be available to work 12:00–4:30 on Wed/Fri and 12:00–5:00 on Mon/Tue/Thu (~24 hours per week).
• Maintain a positive classroom environment suitable for the developmental age and interests of all students.
• Interact with students through talking, playing, and participating during activities.
• Maintain appropriate conduct and classroom behavior rules.
• Keep current, accurate and complete records as required.
• Perform other responsibilities as identified in the job description.

Job description

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the faculty to guide, direct and challenge students in a developmentally appropriate way in a manner that is consistent to St. Michael's mission.
• Work with preschool team members to provide enrichment activities during and after the regular school day.
• Be available to work from 12:00- 4:30 (Wednesday/ Friday) 12:00-5:00 pm (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday) approx. 24 hrs per week.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment that is appropriate to the developmental age and interest of all students.
• Interact with students by talking, playing, and participating with students during activity time.
• Maintain appropriate and safe conduct and rules of classroom behavior.
• Maintain current, accurate, complete and correct records in accordance with requirements.
• Other responsibilities as identified in the job description.
