Job summary

Bond Health in New York seeks an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to plan and lead developmentally appropriate physical education for preschool students with developmental disabilities, focusing on gross motor growth and safe participation.

You will collaborate with classroom teachers and therapy staff to support student goals during activities, maintain a safe gym, follow activity plans, and ensure dignity and confidentiality in all services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or ECSE.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with students with disabilities as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and collaborate with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct adaptive physical education activities for preschool students with developmental disabilities.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and therapy staff to support student goals during gross motor activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized gym or activity space.
• Follow scheduled physical education programming and activity plans.
• Ensure services are delivered with respect for student dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Practice universal precautions at all times.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned by the program director.
