Job summary

YMCA of San Diego seeks a Preschool Aide to supervise 3- to 5-year-olds and assist the teacher in daily activities at the onsite preschool. Responsibilities include child guidance, safety, and engaging activities aligned with YMCA goals.

Requires 18+ years old, 3 units in Early Child Development within 120 days, and completion of child safety trainings. Health and immunization requirements apply. This is an on-site role with a 9:30am–3:30pm schedule, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate.
• 3 units in Early Child Development required within 120 days of employment.
• Criminal record clearance via fingerprinting prior to reporting to work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants, ensuring their guidance and safety.
• Assist the Preschool Teacher in the supervision and implementation of the daily program.
• Communicate positively with participants, parents, community members and co-workers.
• Maintain a professional demeanor to uphold the YMCA image and mission statement.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

3 units in Early Child Development

Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification
