Preschool 2s Lead Teacher Job Description
A Preschool 2s Lead Teacher is passionate about supporting children and teachers in the Preschool, aligning with Forsyth Country Day School’s mission of preparing children for the future. The teacher will foster growth across all developmental domains: Social/Emotional, Language/Literacy, Math/Logical Reasoning, Physical (fine and gross motor), and Adaptive Skills. The role requires commitment to professional and personal growth, with respect for every community member. This is a 12-month position, M-F 7:45-3:45.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Models and fosters a love of learning
- Creates a developmentally appropriate classroom reflecting children’s growth
- Uses diverse data sources to guide instruction, support, and goal-setting in all developmental areas, including assessments and parent conferences
- Employs various teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Identifies student needs and collaborates with staff to support health, behavioral, and learning needs
- Builds strong partnerships with families and maintains regular communication about student progress and classroom events
- Participates in meetings at divisional, team, department, and faculty levels
- Maintains professionalism and a positive attitude with students, colleagues, and community
- Seeks ongoing knowledge of best teaching practices for early childhood education

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or early childhood education preferred
- 3+ years of classroom teaching experience in early childhood preferred
- Teaching license preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Regularly walk, talk, hear, reach, and occasionally lift/move up to 15 pounds
- Sit and stand on the floor, bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children
- Operate a computer and use Google Workspace
- Access and navigate all school areas as needed
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
