Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Presales Thermal Engineer HVAC in the United States to deliver system-level HVAC solutions for data centers and critical facilities.

You will design HVAC architectures, assess RFPs, and coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and controls teams to develop technical proposals for Vertiv modular data-center solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of career experience in new product development as an individual contributor.
• Dimensioning and specification of HVAC equipment and installations.
• Knowledge of CFD tools and modeling.
• Active English.

The Presales Thermal Engineer HVAC is a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Solutions Specialist, a crucial member of the Infrastructure Solutions team during the early engagement phases of customer programs. The position will require competencies in HVAC but also structural, electromechanical, controls and associated disciplines required to provide system level solutions to our customers.

Requirements

• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components to an end-customer deployment
• Solid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architectures and concepts to deployment
• PC skills: active user of Windows, MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), AutoCAD
