Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Presales Thermal Engineer HVAC in the United States to support early engagement with customers. You will design HVAC architectures, interpret requirements, and coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, controls, and fire protection teams to propose best-in-class modular data center solutions.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 3+ years in product development, and strong CFD and AutoCAD capabilities alongside clear communication across engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of career experience in new product development as an individual contributor.
• Dimensioning and specification of HVAC equipment and installations.
• Knowledge of CFD tools and modeling.
• Active English.
• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components to an end-customer deployment.
• Solid communication skills to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architectures and concepts to deployment.
• PC skills: Windows, MS Office incl. Excel, Word, AutoCAD.

The Presales Thermal Engineer HVAC is aHeating, Ventilation and Air ConditioningSolutions Specialist, a crucial member of the Infrastructure Solutions team during the early engagement phases of customer programs. The position will require competencies in HVAC but also structural, electromechanical, controls and associated disciplines required to provide system level solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Making technical proposals for Vertiv modular solutions data centers
• Providing HVAC design documents
• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions
