Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation in the United States seeks a Presales Thermal Engineer HVAC to join the Infrastructure Solutions team and lead early engagement on data center solutions. The role requires integrating HVAC, structural, and electromechanical disciplines to deliver system-level architectures.

You will design HVAC architectures, coordinate with architectural/structural/electrical/controls teams, create CAD models, and develop technical proposals for modular data center solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3+ years in new product development as individual contributor.
• Dimensioning and specification of HVAC equipment and installations.
• Knowledge of CFD tools and modeling.
• Active English; strong cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret RFP and tender documents.
• Understand customer requirements from SA and sales team.
• Concept design of HVAC architecture and equipment.
• Understand codes and standards for HVAC equipment/ installations.
• CAD modeling.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, controls, fire protection teams.
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers for technical projects.
• Propose best solution to customers for Vertiv modular data centers.
• Provide HVAC design documents.
• Support SA and sales teams.

Job Summary

The Presales Thermal Engineer HVAC is aHeating, Ventilation and Air ConditioningSolutions Specialist, a crucial member of the Infrastructure Solutions team during the early engagement phases of customer programs. The position will require competencies in HVAC but also structural, electromechanical, controls and associated disciplines required to provide system level solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents
• Reading and understanding customer requirements provided by SA and sales team
• Concept design of HVAC architecture and equipment
• Understanding of relevant codes and standards for HVAC equipment and installations
• CAD Modeling
• Coordination with other technical disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, controls, fire protection)
• Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers
• Communication with customers in order to propose the best solution
• Making technical proposals for Vertiv modular solutions data centers
• Providing HVAC design documents
• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions
• Support SA and sales team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of career experience in new product development as an individual contributor
• Dimensioning and specification of HVAC equipment and installations
• Knowledge of CFD tools and modeling
• Active English
• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components to an end-customer deployment
• Solid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architectures and concepts to deployment
• PC skills: active user of Windows, MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), AutoCAD
