Job summary

Century Direct Solutions in Islandia, NY, a Triangle Services division, is seeking a dynamic PrePress Manager to lead our prepress workflow, color management, and quality control.

You will oversee plate-making, manage vendors and collaborate with design, manufacturing and sales to ensure accurate, on-time print production. Requires 3+ years in direct mail/print and proficiency with Adobe CC, InDesign, and Quadient Inspire.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in direct mail/print production.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, PitStop/Neo, and InDesign workflows.
• Experience translating multi-format layouts to Quadient Inspire.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

PrePress Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Prepress Manager to lead our prepress operations and ensure the flawless preparation of print materials. In this vital role, you will oversee the entire prepress workflow, from color management and layout design to quality control, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. Your expertise will drive seamless collaboration between graphic design, manufacturing, and printing teams, enabling us to deliver exceptional print advertising and packaging solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the quality and consistency of our printed products while fostering innovation within a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

Responsibilities Include:

Workflow Management: Direct, schedule, and prioritize print projects to ensure timely delivery.

• Quality Control: Review digital files for errors, including font, image resolution, and color accuracy.
• Technical Oversight: Manage the plate-making process, color management, and prepress equipment.
• Team Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise prepress technicians and operators.
• Customer/Internal Liaison: Communicate with sales, customer service, and production teams to resolve artwork issues and clarify specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Seeking an individual with 3+ years experience in direct mail/print production.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Pitstop/Neo, MS Office, and Acrobat workflows.
• Must have the ability to translate Mac and PC In Design/Creative Cloud projects into Quadient (GMC) Inspire workflows.
• Must be comfortable with advanced layouts with variable and transactional data.
• Must have working knowledge of printed products and processes.
• Knowledge of pre-flighting files and trapping process work is key.
• Capable of creating a workable WFD file from a complex InDesign project, and an InDesign file that is not only full of moving parts, but may involve conventional printing as well.
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to work with customers, understand instructions, enter orders and traffic multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to recognize and balance client needs for quality, schedule/on time delivery and budget.

Enhanced Qualifications

• Experience in Direct Mail, digital and offset printing production.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, print technology, or a related field is often preferred but not always required if extensive experience is present.
