Job summary

Sea Box, Inc. in Riverton, UT, is seeking an experienced prepper to support painting and surface prep for a wide range of interior and exterior surfaces. You will prep, mask, sand, and finish, ensuring clean, protected surfaces and adherence to safety policies.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in prepping in an industrial environment and can work with paint PPE. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform duties as assigned in a fast-paced production setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of prep work in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work with paint suit and mask.

Responsibilities

• Accident prevention – identify and report safety hazards.
• Identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
• Support ISO 9001 Quality Management System and company policy.
• Wash containers to remove dirt, oil, grease and debris from painted surfaces.
• Locate and repair imperfections on panels prior to painting.
• Apply masking materials to protect unpainted surfaces during spraying.
• Smooth surfaces by sanding, removing gloss from previous coats.
• Remove masking tape and clean containers after painting.
• Lift production objects up to 50 lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent, safe performance at all times.

Description

Performs work in the painting, prepping, and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures. The prepper prepares surfaces for painting and finishing and does other general laborer type work.

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Paint Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in the field. Must be able to work with paint suit and mask.

Responsibilities:

• Accident prevention – actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.
• Actively identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities.
• Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy calling for self-inspection of your work product.
• Wash containers to remove dirt, oil, grease, and debris from painted surfaces.
• Locate and remove imperfections on panels prior to painting. Treat scratched and chipped areas with proper products.
• Apply paper and tape to protect unpainted surfaces and other parts while surrounding areas are spray-painted.
• Smooth unmasked surfaces with sandpaper removing gloss from previous coats of paint. Sand rough spots.
• After the container is painted, remove masking tape, and clean it.
• Lifting production objects of up to 50lbs.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
