Job summary

The Community Food Co-op in Bellingham, WA seeks a Prepared Foods Shift Leader to supervise daily front-of-house and production tasks while guiding staff and maintaining quality. This non-exempt, union role combines hands-on work with leadership responsibilities to keep service levels and standards high.

Responsibilities include leading shift huddles, coaching team members, coordinating coverage, and ensuring safety, cleanliness, and product quality across departments.

• Effective communication and team leadership skills.

• Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Previous experience in a food service or prepared foods environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift huddles and communicate priorities, expectations, and updates.
• Organize, prioritize, and direct daily work, adjusting assignments as needed.
• Provide training, coaching, and real-time feedback to ensure quality.
• Coordinate breaks and staffing to maintain coverage during peak times.
• Oversee production and service duties, ensuring tasks align with priorities.
• Maintain sanitation, safety, and product quality standards.
