Position Summary

Thirty Nine Enterprises, LLC, a subsidiary of First Americans Museum, aims to advance the Museum’s mission through food and beverage services. The Prep Cook plays a vital role in the operations of Thirty Nine Restaurant and catering services, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly by preparing high-quality ingredients and assisting in creating memorable dishes. The ideal candidate has a passion for precision, organization, and supporting a culinary team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing fruits, vegetables, and proteins.
  • Measure, weigh, and portion ingredients for efficient use during service.
  • Assist with preparing sauces, stocks, and foundational elements of dishes.
  • Ensure mise en place is complete and organized before service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations and storage areas.
  • Label and store ingredients properly to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with chefs and team members to anticipate kitchen needs and adapt during service.
  • Follow all kitchen procedures and recipes to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Assist with plating and garnishing during busy periods, as directed.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Monitor ingredient freshness and quality, reporting issues promptly.
  • Manage stock levels and communicate shortages.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report malfunctions.
  • Participate in cleaning duties and receiving/storing deliveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of kitchen/restaurant experience, preferably in fine dining
  • Basic knife skills and culinary understanding
  • Knowledge of food safety standards; ServSafe certification a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Supervision

Reports to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
