Creative Dining Services is seeking a Prep Cook at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA. The role focuses on prep duties, batch cooking, salad bar setup, and guest interaction to provide excellent service.

The position offers part-time or full-time schedules, with some rotating weekend availability. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in cooking/foodservice, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years cooking or foodservice experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service.
• Prepare hot and cold food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal.
• Utilize safe food handling, storage and service techniques at all times.
• Engage with guests, providing service in a positive, friendly and helpful manner.
• Maintain production records and logs (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, temperatures, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.
• Removal of refuse as needed.
• Putting away/Pulling stock as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $15.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Creative Dining Services is looking for a Prep Cook at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. As a prep cook, this role works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner, and works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary. This role will mainly include prep duties, batch cooking and helping to prepare and set up a salad bar, as well as engaging with our guests to provide excellent customer service.

Schedule/Availability - part time or full time available, some rotating weekend availability is a plus.
