Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is hiring a PREP COOK for both full-time and part-time positions available immediately in Seward, Nebraska. Responsibilities include following recipes, preparing items, and ensuring food safety compliance.

Position

PREP COOK – full-time and part-time positions available immediately.

Location

800 North Colombia, Seward, NE 68434 (Concordia University).

Schedule

• Full-time and part-time shifts available.
• Days may vary: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm – 9:30 pm.

Compensation

Pay range: $16.00–$18.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.
• Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets; taste meals to ensure quality.
• Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use.
• Store, label, and date all food items according to policy; follow HACCP guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation, reports, and logs as required.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
• Serve customers efficiently and friendly manner.
• Complete orders from steam tables and grill stations and serve customers at multiple stations.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Resolve customer concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
