Job summary

Eataly in New York is seeking a Prep Cook to assemble salads, panini, pizzas and desserts, reporting to the Cafe Manager. You will wash, chop, and portion ingredients, and help keep stations clean and well stocked in a fast-paced kitchen.

A base rate of $17 - $19 per hour applies; availability to work onsite with evenings, weekends and holidays is required. You will operate with stand mixers, ovens and other kitchen equipment in a high-energy cafe setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of kitchen experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Washes, peels, slices and mixes vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes, entrees, pizza and desserts.
• Cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
• Prepares pizza alla pala, panini and dessert according to specific recipes.
• Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards and department rules and procedures and Department of Health regulations.
