Job summary

Eataly, the world’s largest artisanal Italian food and beverage marketplace, seeks a Prep Cook to prepare a variety of cold food items for its restaurants. This role requires 1+ years of kitchen experience and the ability to work with commercial equipment.

You will wash, slice, and prep ingredients, follow recipes strictly, and maintain hygiene as per health regulations. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of kitchen experience is required.
• Basic math skills are necessary for portion control.
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity for handling tools.

Job Description

A Prep Cook prepares a variety of cold food items and all prepared ingredients that will be distributed to the kitchens to be cooked for restaurants. Reports to the Cafe Manager and Cafe leads

• Washes, peels, slices andmixvegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes,entrees,pizzaanddesserts.
• Cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and countersrequiredfor production
• Performs other duties asrequiredor assigned
• Prepares pizzaallapala, panini and dessertaccording to specific recipes
• Follows recipes andcomplies withportionsizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures and Department of Health regulations

Qualifications

• 1+ year of kitchen experience
• Basic math skills
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity to use small tools and utensils adeptly
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 poundsand exert well-paced mobility
• Ability to spend up to 8 hours standing or walking in a kitchen and restaurant environment
• Ability to work with commercial equipment including stand mixers, ovens, torches, etc.

Compensation: This position pays a base rate of $17 - $19 per hour.
