LOCAL Public Eatery in Seattle is hiring a Prep Cook to prepare ingredients and support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality dishes.

Base pay starts at $21.30/hour with additional tips from our pool; weekend availability is required and total earnings vary by tips. We offer flexible scheduling and growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year fast-paced kitchen experience, can lift up to 50 lbs, and hold a Food Handler permit; join a fun, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in fast-paced kitchen.
• Valid local/state Food Handler permits or ability to obtain.
• Teamwork and positive attitude.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Passion for cooking and learning.

Responsibilities

• Exude professionalism, friendliness and fun towards guests and fellow partners.
• Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, rotation and recipe standards.
• Learn about inventory management, derive food cost, and culinary terms.
• Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure quick, precise creation of menu items, in accordance with LOCAL Public Eatery recipes; wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc.
• Develop knife skills for efficiency and safety.
• Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
• Stock, clean, and organize line stations.
• Comply with all required food handling and workplace safety procedures.
