Hearty Helpings, Inc. is seeking a Prep Cook to prepare meal ingredients, simple dishes, condiments, and other items as directed by senior culinary staff. You will follow standardized recipes, assist with raw ingredient handling, and ensure a clean, sanitary kitchen.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work with diverse populations, and adherence to safety standards for thousands of meals daily. You will support mission work, including community meals and distributions, as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety standards in handling food and equipment to produce thousands of meals daily.
• Solid math, reading, writing and analytical abilities and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work with diverse educational levels and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and portion menu items by following standardized recipes.
• Assist with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies.
• Monitor temperatures and log entries before serving.
• Store leftovers properly after service and maintain sanitary work areas.
• Handle food, equipment, and utensils according to sanitary regulations.
• Wash and sanitize pots and pans after meal preparation.
• Ensure all areas are clean before end of day.
• Assist with mission-related tasks including community meals and distributions.
• Other duties as assigned.
