Job summary

Grand Lux Cafe is hiring a Prep Cook to prepare dishes from scratch using fresh ingredients. You will join a supportive kitchen team in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant, taking ownership of food prep with attention to detail and consistency.

Responsibilities include following prep lists, reading recipes accurately, preparing ingredients with strong knife skills, and using various cooking methods. Must be 18+, with prior kitchen experience preferred and a focus on food safety.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Proficient with kitchen tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of food preparation and safety standards.
• Ability to multitask with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Follow a prep list and complete tasks efficiently with speed.
• Read and follow recipes with accurate measurements and portions.
• Prepare ingredients with knife skills including chopping, dicing, and slicing.
• Utilize cooking methods including boiling, broiling, roasting, sautéing, frying, and grilling
• Prepare sauces, dressings, and soups; label and rotate food using FIFO.
• Operate ovens, fryers, broilers, grills, mixers, and slicers; maintain safety and cleanliness.
