Job summary

Daily Provisions in Boston seeks a Prep Cook to join its all-day cafe team. You will assist in prep, cooking, and portioning, maintaining high standards across equipment and mise en place.

You’ll follow recipes and standard sheets under culinary leadership and support the kitchen and hospitality teams daily. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a similar environment, can walk/stand for long periods, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a similar environment.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
• English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality.
• Handle prep, cooking, and portioning of food.
• Maintain and use kitchen equipment properly.
• Ensure prep duties are prepped, seasoned, and cooked to standards.
• Follow SOPs and build sheets for assigned dishes.
• Store and label mise en place correctly.
• Maintain sharp knives and tools and fast, accurate knife skills.
• Keep dish station clean and health standards compliant.
• Support team during busy times and catering when needed.
• Apply Health Department guidelines to keep spaces tidy.
