Job Description

Join our kitchen team at Sassano’s in Paoli, PA. This is an entry-level position focused on prep work, with the opportunity to cross-train on the line as determined by management.

Schedule

• Full-Time: Monday–Friday (typical shift: ~8:30 AM – 3:30 PM; includes prep before opening)
• Part-Time: 2–4 days per week including weekends (hours vary based on availability and staffing needs)

Note: Sassano’s public hours are Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Shifts typically start earlier for prep. Weekend shifts may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle all prep-related tasks throughout the shift including sides, soups, salads, trays, and catering prep as needed
• Slice and portion ingredients, label and organize prepared items
• Build made-to-order specialty sandwiches, wraps, and salads to spec
• Prepare in-person and online takeout orders accurately and efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow food safety standards
• Restock the line with ingredients, packaging, condiments, and supplies
• Support opening and closing tasks including setup, breakdown, and cleaning
• Communicate clearly, stay calm, and ask questions when unsure

Requirements

• Food service experience preferred
• Friendly, patient, and team-oriented
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with knives and slicers (training provided)
• Understands food safety and proper handling or willing to learn quickly
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
