Title: Prep Cook / Dishwasher

Location: Adult Residential Treatment Center - 17645 NW St. Helens Hwy, Portland, OR 97214

Schedule: This is an in-person position. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:30am - 6:00pm, & Friday and Saturday, 6:00am - 2:30pm.

Wage Range: $20.00 – $22.00 hourly, non-exempt

Position Overview:

The main duties of the Prep Cook / Dishwasher position are dishwashing, with help with food preparation once the dishwashing duties are completed. May also assist in serving cafeteria style for up to 70 clients. Ensures dish and food preparation equipment are within cleanliness guidelines. This position is intended to be a pathway towards a Cook position.

What you will do:

  • Maintain compliance with NARA’s policy and procedures, as well as state, county, and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dishes and kitchen area.
  • Preps food that will be used in the creation of meals.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of kitchen department supplies and ordering materials as needed.
  • Help serve meals to clients in cafeteria.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with NARA staff.
Qualifications

We would like to hear from people that have:

  • Either High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification required.
  • Six months dishwashing experience in a high-volume setting
  • Knowledge of food preparation.
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment and knives in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to lift up to a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must have a current Food Handler’s Card.
  • Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
