Job summary

Ford's Garage Lexington is seeking a Prep Cook to assist in preparing a variety of foods for lunch and dinner services. You will follow daily prep lists, use proper recipes, weigh and measure ingredients, and ensure freshness and quality at all times.

You must maintain sanitation standards, attend to guest and team needs, and report to the General Manager on time. This role requires reliability, English literacy, and basic computer skills, with a focus on consistent food safety practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic restaurant hospitality and service minded attitude.
• Valid Food Safety certification (or other food/alcohol cert) as required by state law.
• Good hearing for safety and accurate communication.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Basic computer usage skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to attendance policy and procedural compliance.
• Be alert to team member and guest needs.
• Sign in and report to General Manager on time.
• Check with Kitchen Manager for specials; prepare lunch/dinner items and prep quantity; ensure cleanliness.
• Stock food products and equipment; keep area clean and prepared.
• Follow the recipe exactly at all times.
• Coordinate with supervisor on the prep schedule.
• Use recipe book; read before starting; weigh and measure ingredients.
• Have supervisor taste all prepared items.
• Follow proper cooling procedures for cooked prep items; refrigerate items promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and use clean storage containers.
• Date label and rotate products; ensure freshness and quality.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures; report prep area conditions to MOD.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager/Manager or Key employee.
