Job summary

Legacy Hospitality in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Prep Cook to join our culinary team and help prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.

You will wash, chop, slice and portion food items, follow all food safety procedures, label, date and store food using FIFO, maintain a clean, organized workstation, and support the culinary team to ensure smooth service. Must obtain a valid Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire and maintain certifications.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a valid Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred experience in kitchen or prep cook roles.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment.

What You Will Do

As a Prep Cook you will

• Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards
• Wash chop slice and portion food items
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Label date and store food properly using FIFO methods
• Maintain a clean organized and stocked workstation Support the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient service
• Assist with basic cooking tasks as needed

Physical Requirements Essential Job Functions

This is a physically demanding role Candidates must be able to

• Stand and walk for extended periods up to 8 hours per shift
• Frequently lift carry push or pull up to 50 pounds food supplies and equipment
• Perform repetitive motions including bending reaching and twisting
• Work safely in a fast paced kitchen environment
• Handle knives equipment and cleaning chemicals safely
• Maintain stamina and focus during peak service hours
