Job summary

Currahee Club in Toccoa, GA is seeking a driven Prep Cook to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality property managed by Troon. The role focuses on following recipes, maintaining freshness, and supporting kitchen operations in a busy environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and are able to perform duties requiring standing, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in various conditions. Training in Food Safety and Sanitation is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and product directions for proper food preparation.
• Maintains quality control by monitoring freshness daily.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking.
• Operates kitchen utensils and equipment for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading food products.
• Ensures proper food handling procedures: wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperatures.
• Receives and inventories food and beverage product and supplies.
• Cleans and sanitizes work station and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Department Manager.

General Purpose:

The Food Preparer is responsible the preparing various food products

• Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation
• Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness of product daily
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart
• Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking
• Operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food products
• Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products
• Receives and inventories food and beverage product and supplies
• Cleans and sanitizes work station and equipment
• Ability to perform any other duties as assigned by Department Manager

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes and smells. Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather. Noise level is moderate.
